Independence Day – around 150 people including ambassadors of each country in Seoul at the official residence on 4th of July.
[Si-Sa Times = Tak Kyoung Seon] On 4th of July, 2012, the 201st celebration event for Independence Day of Venezuela was held at its official residence in Seoul. About one-hundred fifty honored guests, including ambassadors of many countries in Seoul, and Mr. Chang, Geun-Ho, Director of Latin American and Caribbean Affairs in the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade of Korea participated in the event for the sake of commemoration.

Mr. Wolfgang Gonzalez, Venezuela ambassador in Seoul, said in the greeting address of the event, ¡°The Independence of Venezuela was not achieved in a day. It came to be true out of the ideal and fighting of the people. A good opportunity can be found on the fifth of July in talking about contemporary issues of both countries, Venezuela and South Korea, as well as to exchange friendly messages between us.¡±
Further he said, ¡°We have built up continuous relationships since in 1965. These days, there are growing investments of Korean companies in oil and natural gas industries in Venezuela etc. Many fruitful exertions between us have been turned up in not only business contracts in energy, but also variety of cultural exchanges, which could lead to inspire hope to teenagers.
Lastly, he added, ¡°We hope that close cooperation for mutual interests and friendship will go on and on between Venezuela and South Korea.¡±

Mr. Chang, Director of Latin America & Caribbean Affairs of Seoul gave congratulatory address on the day, and said, ¡°Last year, the bell of friendships between Korea and Venezuela was dedicated for the commemoration of the bicentennial anniversary of Independence Day of Venezuela. The dedication ceremony was on 21th of June 2011,¡± and ¡°we hope that the bell will be beloved by the people of Venezuela, and also remains the very symbol of our close friendships.¡±
Mr. Chang mentioned, ¡°Since in 1965, the both have kept cooperation relations in politics, economy, and culture. Natural resources of Venezuela will give birth to unlimited potential power of cooperation in various industries. And last April encountered the symbolic meaning of being able to become led into cooperation of the both in many fields of interests that Minister of Petrol & Mineral Resources of Venezuela was invited to Seoul and a memorandum of understanding was signed up.¡±
In addition, he said, ¡°recent interest in South Korea has been connected into K-POP, which plays a role in solidifying mutual increasing of mutual understanding and exchanging,¡± and emphasized that we have confidence in that we have a strong resolve to march forward as a cooperative partners.
